the skunk
Sara is playing with this stuffed skunk. My sister made this skunk when she was in high school. Years back my sister was house sitting - when the family came home the skunk was sitting on their kitchen floor - they did a double take because they thought that the skunk was real! Sara does not seem concerned that this skunk looks real!
Lily and Sara, tearing paper
Lily teaches Sara how fun it is to tear paper! Lily is happy as long as Sara is doing what Lily wants.

happy eater
Sara is a happy eater - I love this age because there is no attitude as to what is being served for dinner - Sara will just about everything except bananas. New foods that she has tried - tofu dogs, asparagus, spinach, yogurt, mac & cheese, spaghetti with my sauce (garlic, onions, kidney beans, tvp chunks), my veggie soup, faux chicken nuggets made from soy, steamed egg, cream of wheat, oatmeal, cheese and many fruits and veggies.

thanks for the baby shower - in town
My friends in town did a baby shower for before we traveled to China. Thank you to everyone that came - and for the wonderful presents for Sara and donations for the orphanage - also thanks for the support during the wait for referral and wait for travel. Thanks to my friend Michelle who sent me all these photos. I can't believe I took hardly any photos at the shower!
thanks for the baby shower - at work
Before we traveled to pick up Sara my coworkers gave me a baby shower. This is the cake that TO made for the shower! It was yummy too! Thank you to all my coworkers for my present and for all your support! I have thought of you all often while we were in China - and was very happy to hear that you were able to follow our journey through this blog.
Thank you for orphange donations
Thank you for the donations to the orphanage. I gave them to the assistant director on the day we signed all our paperwork for Sara's adoption. Thank you for the creams and medications from everyone at the two baby showers - the shower in town and the shower at work. Thank you to my mother for the blankets, mittens and hats that she made. I also brought fleece hats and booties. The orphanage is not well off and so the donations are well appreciated.
