airport travel

We made the flight from Changsha to Guangzhou yesterday (Saturday) without any problems. It was only just over a hour flight but the travel took us all day. A bus to and from each airport. And then because of the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) they had us get to the airport early to make sure that there was time for us to check in before the flight and to get ourselves and bags through all the security. That went well. The flight was easy for some babies and for some babies very difficult. Some of the babies cried and screamed the whole flight. Our little peanut was fine until the end and then she screamed and cried. But I think she was tired of being couped up. Here are some photos of airport travel. The first one is actually from Hong Kong before we picked up Sara - it is a photo from one of the other families - you can see me pushing the cart of duffle bags (suitcases), Lily walking, and Jon with the folded up stroller. The other photos are from the airport in Changsha China - waiting in the airport - and then on the plane between Changsha (the city we received Sara in and did all the Chinese Gov't paperwork) and Guangzhou (the city we are in now and that we will do all our American Gov't paperwork in).

Hey- your trip is going fast!

Glad you arrived safely in Guangzhou. Are you staying at the Victory or White Swan? (sorry if I missed that?)

I'm glad Sara did pretty ok on the plane ride. Imagine what that must be like for our girls!

I can't tell you enough how much we appreciate being able to follow your trip.

....but you're making me hungry!

Take care!!

Martha -
Thanks for you notes! I love reading them. I am thinking about you guys and hoping that your referral comes soon. It is worthwhile that we took Lily with us but it has been hard for her and us. Are you still planning on taking Rosemary - I've been telling Lily that Rosemary is going to China just like she is in China.
